FICCI in association with CHEMEXCIL (Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics & Dyes Export Promotion Council) and IRU, Geneva is organizing Export Awareness Webinar on “UN TIR system” - An easy tool for hassle free movement of goods across international borders on Thursday, 27 May 2021.

The webinar aims to create and enhance awareness about UN TIR system amongst Indian exporters. The focus of the workshop will be to familiarize the industry representatives with the operational aspects of using UN TIR and its benefits. It will be a platform, where the industry can bring out issues involved with respect to export/import of goods and can benefit from the deliberations of the session.

TIR is an internationally successful customs transit system that enables movement of goods between countries affiliated to the TIR Convention, a 1975 UN-ratified agreement allowing for duty-free movement of freight across nations. It is overseen by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), and managed by IRU, Geneva. TIR stands for “Transports Internationaux Routiers”. FICCI has been functioning as National Issuing & Guaranteeing Association for the operation of TIR system in India like ATA Carnet.
